Budgets

So the best way to save money is to create a budget and stick to it. I try and allow myself $60 per week for food, personal care items, and stockpile stuff a week. There are many times I don't get anywhere near that figure and I consider that a bonus. Don't get me wrong, I will go over budget if it is a great sale price on something we use but it usually don't come to that. In my house there are 2 of us and 1 is a teenage boy.  For that $60 per week we have a ton of national brand food (my stand alone freezer is full to the brim) and name brand personal items.  We have enough to help out friends if they need something. We are able to splurge on things like organic veggies, salad mix and eggs. We do eat some junk food, but we do try to limit it. My 13 year old even reads lables, I am so proud.

This week I have spent $46 of our budget. I still have CVS, Dominicks and Walgreens to hit Sunday. Believe it or not I should be well within my budget for the week. CVS and Walgreens may cost about $10 out of pocket and Dominicks will cost me change. Dominicks is pretty well covered between gift cards, credits (from PG e coupon) and RR's and OYNO cats.

What do y'all budget for the week and how many are in your family?
