Many of the soda companies have recently made throwback versions of their sodas available. I am personally upset that I haven't found the throwback Dr. Pepper where I live. What makes the throwback version different is that it goes back to using sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). While too much sugar is not good for you, I personally believe that these throwback versions are slightly better for you. I have noticed that the rate of obesity and diabetes in this country is directly correlated with the addition of HFCS into almost everything we eat. I cant imagine that the cost for soda made with sugar instead of HFCS would be any more expensive. If it was I would be willing to pay a little more to not have the HFCS. Hopefully these throwbacks will not be a fad, but will slowly replace the HFCS sodas on the market.
This was prompted because I bought a throwback Mountain Dew at CVS and it was sooo good!
