Pawn Shops are a great place to buy DVD's and Jewelry. Usually, pawnshops are overloaded with DVDs so they sell them ridiculously cheap. I was able to get Dreamgirls brand new, unopened the day it came out on DVD for $3 from a pawn shop. So don't just go to thrift stores, hit the pawn shops too.
Used bookstores are the best. You can take your old books, that are collecting dust, and change them in for store credit, and get some new to you books.
If you don't live around a used book store how about swapping books online. Many sites like Paperback Swap allow you to list your unwanted books and ship them to folks who do want it. You then get credit to use on books that you want. Win Win.
What ways do you use to save money?
