Well I made it to CVS and got my cheap water. I know why they named this area Hickory Hills...There are a gazillion. I got a workout though, so hey!
Now on to my JC Penneys rant. I like many others took advantage of that great $10 off any order of $10 or more. I ordered a t shirt and some slippers (for myself for a change) and paid $8 and some change for them and that included shipping.
Well about a week later I got the T shirt and 2 valances. I called immediately and told them they sent me something I never ordered and didn't send something I did. The lady on the phone offered to credit me for the slippers, then order them again and charge me again. I told her NO she needed to just send my slippers no credit no charging needed. She agreed and said she would do that and send me a mailing label so I can send back the valances.
The next day I got the slippers and a note saying this was left out of my order. Wow, what great customer service I thought and waited for a label. About a week later (Saturday) I get another pair of slippers. HUH??? So I call again tell them to send a label for the slippers and to stop sending me all this stuff. Later on that evening I was looking over my bank account online, and I see JC Penneys charged me for the 2nd pair of slippers.
I was heated. I called there today and spoke with a supervisor. I let hem know that they did not have authorization to charge my credit card for the second charge and that was theft. I let them know they needed to refund my money immediately or I would file complaints with the BBB, FTC, AG and any other government agency that has authority over this situation.
The nice lady that had the unfortunate task of dealing with me did credit me back, and offered a $15 merchandise credit for the trouble. She also apologized. While I am still not happy that this incident occurred, I will give JC Penneys a second chance, after all everyone (including me) makes mistakes.
